Our History

The name BROADSTONE fuses together the ideals of diversity and strength, qualities the firm and its partners value in our services and expertise. The name, for us, embodies our sense of pride in the long-term client relationships we develop.

BROADSTONE was initially formed by its two founding partners, Stephen Litzenberger and Timothy Hilferty, who shared a vision of providing high quality accounting and finance consulting services to large, public organizations at reasonable rates.

The firm was formally established in September of 2007 and began offering services in January of 2008. By May of that year, Dorothy Whiteman had joined the firm, bringing additional diversity and expertise to the partnership group.

The firm’s 2008 start-up was challenging to say the least. Established during one of the worst economic periods in United States’ history, BROADSTONE diversified its service offerings to also address the needs of small and medium-sized businesses. Our knowledgeable consultants bring expertise that is rare in such markets.

Today, BROADSTONE, led by Steve, identifies itself as a boutique firm, providing professional services to large and small organizations alike, as well as individuals. To best serve clients across the globe, we have established our firm in the northeast region of the United States.
